In Algebra, the conjugate is where you change the sign (+ to −, or − to +) in the middle of two terms.
Examples:
• from 3x + 1 to 3x − 1
• from 2z − 7 to 2z + 7
• from a − b to a + b
Examples:

• from 2z − 7 to 2z + 7
